If you want to make your exfoliation routine easy, effective, and truly indulgent, I highly recommend Osmia’s peeling salts.
They are Finnish, high-quality products made from carefully selected ingredients. Fine-grain sea salt removes dead skin cells effectively yet gently, leaving your skin silky smooth and radiant.
Osmia offers four beautiful scents—there’s something for everyone.
Wild Rose is soft, luxurious, and feminine—a true moment of pampering in the sauna.
Birch is the perfect choice for an authentic sauna feeling: fresh, natural, and truly Finnish.
Coconut–Jasmine adds a warm, slightly exotic touch and turns your scrub into a spa-like experience.
Citrus Garden is energizing and refreshing—perfect when you need a boost.
The ready-made peeling salts are an easy and reliable choice. You can use them as they are or add almond oil or honey for an even more nourishing result.
It’s a small investment in your well-being—and your skin will thank you immediately.
If you haven’t tried it yet, I encourage you to find your favorite scent. A sauna scrub might just become one of your favorite weekly rituals.

Exfoliating in the Sauna
Exfoliating is best done in the sauna, if possible. If not, no worries—you can also exfoliate after a bath or shower.
Using peeling salt in the sauna helps open the pores, stimulate circulation and metabolism, and promote deep relaxation.
When you massage the peeling salt into your skin, you also give yourself a gentle massage. Even better—ask your partner or a friend to do it for you and enjoy double the benefits.
Peeling salt enhances your skincare routine. It removes dead skin cells and brightens the skin’s surface.
I recommend staying in the sauna for 5–10 minutes before starting the scrub. This allows the pores to open and makes the skin more receptive.
Avoid using peeling salt if your skin is very sensitive or if you have just shaved your legs or other body hair.
What Should You Keep in Mind?
Bring the peeling salt into the sauna with you so it can soften and warm up before use.
I recommend adding a little oil or honey to ready-made peeling salt. This makes it smoother and easier to spread.
Before entering the sauna, remember to cover the benches with a large towel or sheet.

How to Use Peeling Salt in the Sauna
- Shower before entering the sauna.
- Enjoy the heat and steam for 5–10 minutes. Alternatively, take a warm bath or shower.
- Start exfoliating from your feet and move upward toward your heart using circular motions—this helps stimulate circulation.
- Exfoliate your arms from bottom to top.
- Focus on dry areas such as elbows, heels, and knees.
- If possible, let the peeling salt sit on your skin for 10–15 minutes.
- Rinse off with warm water.
- Pat your skin dry gently.
- After the sauna, your skin is especially receptive—apply body lotion every time.
- Choose high-quality, eco-friendly products.
How Often Should You Exfoliate?
A salt scrub is recommended 1–2 times per week. Exfoliating too often can irritate the skin and will not provide additional benefits.
Can You Exfoliate with Salt?
Yes. In my opinion, fine sea salt is one of the best options for body exfoliation. However, I do not recommend it for the face, as it can be too coarse for delicate facial skin.
Sea salt is naturally antibacterial and helps neutralize bacteria on the skin.
You can also use other types of salt, such as Himalayan salt or rose salt.
What Type of Scrub Is Suitable for Sensitive Skin?
If you have sensitive skin, choose a mild, fragrance-free exfoliating product. Always test a new product on a small area first.
