Hello!
I am forty something woman from Finland and I currently live in a small village in the German Alps. I came here to work in a Finnish hotel in Oberreute, at Christmas of 2011. As it happened, I met the love of my life and now we have a son who was born in April of 2016.
So, eight months suddenly turned into 9 years of living here. We have a beautiful detached house with a mountain view and we have built our own sauna in the basement. My father came all the way from Finland to help build the sauna. The first ”löyly” (sauna bath) in our sauna was just great. My father said it was the best steam ”löyly” in all of Germany.
It is no surprise that the idea for the World of Sauna -blog came to me in a sauna. But above all, it was born out of my love and passion for sauna.
In this blog, I want to talk all things sauna-related. I share stories and pictures of exciting and unique saunas all around the world. I also want to introduce Finnish saunas to my readers as we have so many of them in and they have been built literally everywhere (we even have one in a ski lift).
You are most welcome to come join me in exploring the wonderful world of Sauna!
